This is the first track made on my new Linux laptop running Ubuntu Studio. This was composed entirely in Schism Tracker using only samples from a Casio SK-1 drumkit.
I'm really not sure how to classify this, or declare of what music I like it's derived from. This was the first track I tried to implement sidechaining in from about six months ago; though the method it used I did not continue implementing, so this version has no side-chaning. Too bad.
IRON CHEF OF MUSIC is kracfive's PRODUCER BATTLE. Each music-making battle has its own unique ingredients, or audio-samples, that all participants are required to use. No outside ingredients allowed! To make things even more interesting, a time limit is imposed on each match, usually two hours.
The latest one should be loaded in the mp3 player on the left.
In addition to the elite Kracfive-bakesale kitchen-team you already know & love, a wide variety of special guests are invited each week to get into the kitchen and out of the fire.
One must have precise control over the ingredients in order to "one-up the more traditional sensibilities of our contempories, mixing styles effortlessly within a strikingly diminutive running time, exuding passion, depth, crunchy vibrancy, blistering energy and powerfully evocative soundscaping, all packed together in a box of sweet melodic goodness."
"oh iron chefs!! THIS IS pure digital energy.. sprite, crisp sounds embedded in an atmosphere of atonal mystery. a prolonged, fused buzz of peculiarity with a big bite of sensual minimalism."
An ironchefof music submission from Sunday night. Once each note and percussive element was entered, there were no backward edits; completely forward sequencing. One could invent a better snare drum from complex droning sines. No time to chill with the dinos; per usual.
